If you’ve played “Portal” or “Portal 2,” you probably figured out “I Love You, You Monster” is about GLaDOS. This is the second poem I’ve written about GLaDOS, the first being “Limerick for GLaDOS,” which was written on a whim after some silliness on Twitter. It’s a Shakespearean sonnet (iambic pentameter rhyming ABAB CDCD EFEF GG, blah blah blah).
You could also say it’s about loving somebody when you know it’s a bad, bad idea to be doing that.
If you’re thinking, “For someone who claims not to care about love, you sure do write about it a lot,” you are right. I am a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in bullshit.
Also, putting binominal nomenclature in poems is apparently a thing I do.
